-Walkthrough-
Walkthrough
by Nightwalker
Difficulty
- Expert
(Note:
Any doors that aren't indicated as requiring a key are either unlocked
or can be picked open.)
Walk
south to a set of double doors and open them to enter the main courtyard
in front of Lady Ashton's mansion. There are moss arrows concealed
in several of the plants scattered around the lawn. The door on
the west side of the courtyard opens into a cleaner's room where
you'll find 4 water arrows in a bucket of water. There's another
room on the east side of the courtyard where you'll find a guard
sleeping on a bed, wearing the "House key".
Walk
through the west tunnel archway to a courtyard with a locked tower
and a door into the house. One of the guards here also has a "House
key". Unlock the door into the house with the key and enter
a large room with a fish pond in the middle. There isn't anything
of value in here, so leave by the far doors and turn left (N) up
the hallway. The first room on the right is the File room, where
you'll find a fine wine bottle, worth 50g., sitting on the floor
under the table. Continue around the corner and along the hallway
to a set of doors on the right that opens into an office. There's
a locked box on one of the desks which contains a gold coinstack,
worth 25g. (75), and there's a silver coinstack, worth 12g. (87),
and a bronze coinstack, worth 5g. (92), sitting on one of the other
desks.
The
next room on the right is the office of Oskar Denton, Capt. of the
Guard. There are 3 moss arrows, 3 water arrows, 3 fire arrows sitting
on the shelves and 3 flashbombs inside an open chest that also sits
on the shelves. There's a book on the desk that mentions a rare
weapon, called The Crystal Shard, which he has come into possession
of. He says he has it well hidden somewhere. Go through the door
on the east wall into his private rooms. There are crossed swords,
worth 10g. (102), mounted above the fireplace mantel and a fine
wine bottle, worth 50g. (152), as well as a gold goblet, worth 25g.
(177), sitting on the coffee table. The door on the north wall in
this room takes you into his bedroom where you'll find a candlestick,
worth 50g. (227), and a dagger, worth 5g. (232). There is a locked
black chest that contains a gas arrow.
Go
back out into the hallway through his office door and continue on
to the Training room door on the right. Inside is a door to the
armoury but it's locked, with a note beside it saying that anyone
requiring entry will have to see Capt. Denton. It isn't pickable,
so you'll have to come back later with the key. Outside the Training
room door, walk straight ahead (N), down a long hallway to the door
at the end, which unlocks with the "House key". On the
other side of the door is an enclosed back garden with a fish pond.
Walk across the courtyard from the door to an unlit torch holder
on the garden wall. Frob it and a panel slides open in the lawn
nearby. Inside, you'll find a purse, worth 100g.(332), a gold coin,
worth 20g. (352), 3 bronze coinstacks, worth 15g. (367), a silver
coinstack, worth 12g. (379), and a gold coinstack, worth 25g. (404).
There are 3 moss arrows sitting on the edge of the pond in this
courtyard and one in a bush in the SW corner.
Enter
the mansion again, return to the main hallway and turn left (E).
You'll come to a red curtain on your left, behind which you'll find
a small display/cloak room. There's a necklace, worth 5g. (409),
a silver magnifying glass, worth 5g. (414), a silver dish, worth
12g. (426), and 2 blue goblets, worth 24g. (450), sitting on the
shelves. Continuing along the hallway, the next set of doors on
the right leads to a set of stairs up to the next floor. Behind
the stairs are double doors into another corridor. Leave this area
for later and continue along the hallway.
The
double doors on the left side open into a room with a swimming pool.
There's a gold nugget, worth 100g. (550), inside a chest that is
sitting behind the screen to the left. There's a silver nugget,
worth 50g. (600), on the bottom of the pool and the door on the
east wall, which unlocks with the House key, leads out into another
courtyard with a locked tower that requires a key you don't yet
have. There's a guard that patrols into this courtyard that is wearing
another copy of the "House key".
Next
on the left along the hallway is a sitting room. There's a gold
candlestick, worth 50g. (650), sitting on one end table and a bronze
coinstack, worth 5g. (655), on top of the armoire.
Lady Barbara's Gift
The
next set of doors on your right opens into a small suite of rooms
where you'll find a gold urn, worth 100g. (755) sitting on a table
in the sitting room and, in the attached bedroom, you'll find a
green vase worth 50g. (805).
Continue down the hall, passing a door on the left that unlocks
with the "House key" and leads outside, to the next room
on the right which is another sitting room with tea laid out on
the table. There's a coin, worth 5g. (810), in a chest in the corner,
and a gold teapot, worth 25g. (835), as well as a gold plate, worth
50g. (885), sitting on the coffee table. Read the letter lying on
the table and you'll find that you're in Lady Barbara's rooms, so
you need to search for her gift to the wedding couple. There's a
bedroom through the other door and the wrapped gift is sitting on
top of the armoire. Pick it up to complete the objective. You'll
also find a ring, worth 100g. (985), lying on the floor underneath
the bedside table.
The
doors at the end of the hallway take you into the front foyer, which
has steps up to the second floor. Walk around behind the steps and
go through the double doors into another hallway.
Servant Quarters
The
first set of rooms on the left belongs to D. Patrick, Caretaker.
There's nothing in the first room but in the bedroom, you'll find
a gold plate, worth 50g. (1035), and a silver dish, worth 12g. (1047).
The last room is an office. Look for a tiny lever on the front of
one of the desk drawers that opens a secret compartment in the wall
behind the desk. There's a box here that contains a gold coinstack,
worth 25g. (1072). There's also an unlocked safe, holding a purse
worth 100g. (1172) on the shelves in this room. There's a globe,
worth 12g. (1184) on the top shelf, above the safe.
The
first room on the right is the staff dining room, where you'll pick
up a bronze coinstack, worth 5g. (1189), from the table. The next
room on the same side of the hallway is a bathing room, where you'll
find 2 gold coins, worth 40g. (1229), sitting on the side of the
tub and 4 water arrows in the bath water.
The
room across the hallway from this one is a barracks room, where
there is a moss arrow in a chest and a bronze coinstack, worth 5g.
(1234), on the floor underneath the table. There's a second barracks
room behind this one and you'll find a bronze coinstack, worth 5g.
(1239), inside an unlocked chest in there.
The
next room on the same side of the hallway is a second barrack's
room, where there's a gold coin, worth 5g, (1244), locked inside
a chest. The room across the hall from this one is a bathroom. There
are 2 gold coins, worth 40g. (1284), lying on the floor to the right
of the toilet.
The
next set of doors on the left opens into Capt. Denton's private
rooms, which you've already explored, so go past them to the next
room on the left, which is a small storeroom, where there is a coin,
worth 5g. (1289), in a chest.
The
last room on the left is the kitchen. In here, besides lots of yummy
cakes and doughnuts, you'll find a tiny, red spice bag, worth 40g.
(1329), on the shelf behind a bottle. On the other shelves, you'll
find 2 regular spice bags, worth 80g. (1409), 2 gold goblets, worth
50g. (1459), 2 fine wine bottles, worth 100g. (1559), 3 plates,
worth 30g. (1589), and 2 purple goblets, worth 30g. (1619). I didn't
find anything of value in the pantry, just lots more very appetizing
food.
The
room across the hall from the kitchen is another barracks room,
where you'll find a healing potion and a flashbomb in the chests.
The end doors are the ones you found behind the steps in the back
foyer, so walk all the way back to the doors you entered this hallway
by, back out into the front foyer and out the doors on the right
(W).
The
first room on the right is the Caretaker's office, which you've
already investigated. The second room on the right is another office,
where you'll find a set of silver scissors, worth 12g. (1631), a
bronze coinstack, worth 5g. (1636), on one of the desks. There's
a purse, worth 100g. (1736), inside the green safe. Farther up the
hallway, there's a red-curtained room on the right which appears
to be a cleaner's closet. There are three moss arrows in a chest
and a ladder up to the second floor, and since you've come full
circle, climb it.
Second Floor
There's
a vase, worth 50g. (1786), in the room at the top of the ladder.
Leave through the red curtain and enter the second floor hallway.
The door across from the curtain is locked and seems to need a key,
so leave it for now and turn to the left (S). Walk around the corner
and turn right down the next hallway. There's a guard standing in
front of double doors on the right-hand side of the hall. This is
the music room and Lady Irmgard is walking around inside. You'll
find a bottle of fine wine, worth 50g. (1836), a gold plate, worth
50g. (1886), and a gold goblet, worth 25g. (1911). There are 2 gold
candlesticks, worth 100g. (2011), on the fireplace mantel. Climb
the steps to the raised section of the room and you'll find a silver
flute, worth 50g. (2061).
Continuing
down the hall, you'll pass a doorway on the right that takes you
out onto the battlements above the front door, then an archway onto
the front foyer.
The
next room on the left is a large dining room, obviously set up for
the wedding reception. The woman standing in here, Lady Gertrude
Ashton, is wearing a pair of opera glasses, worth 5g. (2066). There
are 4 fine wine bottles, worth 200g. (2266), 24 china plates, worth
240g. (2506), 24 goblets, worth 360g. (2866), and 2 gold teapots,
worth 50g. (2916), on the dining tables.
The next room you come to is a large reception room. There's a gold
plate, worth 25g. (2941), and a gold teapot, worth 25g. (2966),
on a cart to the right of the door, as you enter. An identical cart
on the opposite side of the doorway, also holds a gold plate, worth
25g. (2991), and a gold teapot, worth 25g. (3016).
Lord
Hrothgar, who is standing in the center of the room with 2 other
people, is wearing a purse, worth 100g. (3116), and in the NW corner
of the room, there's a fine wine bottle, worth 50g. (3166), and
2 wine glasses, worth 30g. (3196), sitting on a table. There's another
table in the NE corner of the room where you'll find 2 blue goblets,
worth 10g. (3206).
Continuing
east along the hall, the next room on the left is a bar/tea room.
There's a clock, worth 12g. (3218), 2 gold candlesticks, worth 100g.
(3318), a wine glass, worth 15g. (3333), a teapot, worth 25g. (3358),
and a gold plate, worth 25g. (3383), in the sitting area. Behind
the bar, you'll find 2 plates, worth 20g. (3403), a teapot, worth
25g. (3428), a gold urn, worth 100g. (3528), 3 fine wine bottles,
worth 150g. (3678), 3 gold goblets, worth 75g. (3753), 2 purple
goblets, worth 45g. (3798), and 9 wine glasses, worth 135g. (3933).
Next
you'll pass a door out onto the other battlements that overlook
the front grounds. The door after that opens into a gaming room,
where you'll find a globe, worth 12g. (3945), 2 gold candlesticks,
worth 100g. (4045), a plate, worth 10g.(4055), 2 silver coinstacks,
worth 24g. (4079), and 2 bronze coinstacks, worth 10g. (4089).
Next
is a sitting room where you'll find Sir Ar-Zimrathon, who is wearing
a red key. You'll also find a small dish, worth 10g. (4099), a wine
glass, worth 15g. (4114), 2 gold candlesticks, worth 100g. (4214),
and a plate, worth 10g. (4224).
The
door across the hallway from this room is a second door into the
bar, and then you'll reach the end of this hallway, which is crossed
by another hallway. Turn right (E), go around the corner and into
the suite of rooms on the right, which has a guard by the door.
Lady Gertrude Ashton's Room and the Scepter
In
the first room, you'll find 2 gold candlesticks, worth 100g. (4324),
a plate, worth 10g. (4334), a fine wine bottle, worth 50g. (4384),
and a wine glass, worth 15g. (4399). There's a tiny gold ring, worth
100g.(4499), lying on the floor in front of the right-hand window.
The second room in the suite is an office and you'll find a globe,
worth 25g. (4524), on a shelf above a green safe. Inside the safe
there's a purse, worth 100g. (4624).
The
third room is her bedroom, where you'll find a baby burrick. You'll
also find a teapot, worth 25g. (4649), a gold plate, worth 25g.(4674)
and a gold goblet, worth 5g. (4679). There's a clock, worth 5g.
(4684), a vase, worth 5g. (4689), a pocket watch, worth 5g. (4694),
and 2 blue goblets, worth 10g. (4704), displayed on the wall shelves.
There's a necklace, worth 200g. (4904), sitting on the bedside table.
In
the adjoining bathroom, you'll find 4 water arrows, as well as a
necklace, worth 12g. (4916), and a mirror, worth 5g. (4921). Look
on the wall behind the screen for a coat hook to frob. The back
of the bookcase in the bedroom slides away and there's a secret
room behind it. In here, you'll find the scepter needed to complete
an objective. You'll also find a ring, worth 100g. (5021), a torc,
worth 350g. (5371), a tiara, worth 125g. (5496), a purple urn, worth
100g. (5596), a green tapestry, worth 150g. (5746), 3 jars, worth
60g. (5806), a gold coptic jar, worth 75g. (5881), and 2 gold nuggets,
worth 200g. (6081), sitting on the shelves. There's a gold nugget,
worth 100g. (6181), in the chest on the left and a purse, worth
100g. (6281), in the chest on the right. This also completes the
loot objective of 6000g.
Once
you're done here, go back out into the hallway and go through the
double doors opposite. This takes you onto the landing above the
back stairs. There's a purple urn, worth 100g. (6381), sitting on
a ledge on the far side of the stairs. There's a set of double doors
here that opens onto another hallway, but you don't want to miss
anything, so go back out the way you came, continue up the hallway
(N) to the corner and turn left.
Next
you come to another suite of rooms which belongs to Sir Andre. There's
a gold candlestick, worth 50g. (6431), a plate, worth 10g. (6441),
a fine wine bottle, worth 50g. (6491), 2 wine glasses, worth 30g.
(6521), a vase, worth 5g. (6526), and a silver dish worth 5g. (6531).
In the bedroom, there's a wine glass, worth 15g. (6546), sitting
on the floor under one of the bedside tables. There are 2 coins,
worth 40g. (6586), lying on the floor under the table beside the
sofa, as well.
Farther
down the hall, there's a big bathing room where you'll find a vase,
worth 50g. (6636), a fine wine bottle, worth 50g. (6686), and a
gold goblet, worth 25g. (6711). Past this room, there's an open
art room on the right where you'll find 2 vases, worth 100g. (6811)
and, across the hall from it, there's a men's bathroom, where you'll
find a fine wine bottle, worth 50g. (6861), lying on the floor beside
the toilet.
Go
through the double doors at the end of the hallway and out onto
the battlements above the back garden with the pond and secret.
To the left, at the very end in the NW corner, there's a door that
opens into a room with a Hammer guard standing in it. There's a
flashbomb in the chest here. Through the door opposite this one,
in the SW corner, there's another dining room with a gold candlestick,
worth 50g. (6911), sitting in the middle of the table. Walk through
the office next door and into the church where you'll find 2 gold
candlesticks, worth 100g. (7011), on the altar.
Leave
by the south doors and enter another hallway. Turn right (W) and
the first doors you come to lead into the Library. Here you'll find
a gold urn, worth 100g. (7111), 2 gold candlesticks, worth 100g.
(7211), and a clock, worth 12g. (7223). In one of the rooms, you'll
find 2 vases, worth 100g. (7323) and, in the room with the little
sitting area, you'll find a gold goblet, worth 25g. (7348), a gold
plate, worth 50g. (7398), and a fine wine bottle, worth 50g. (7448).
There's also a globe, worth 12g. (7460). In the last room, there's
a teapot, worth 25g. (7485), and a gold plate, worth 50g. (7535).
Return here later, after you've obtained a rope arrow and check
the top of the shelves for a book, worth 25g. (7560), and a necklace,
worth 200g. (7760).
Go
out the door in the last room and onto the battlements again. Head
to the SE corner, where there's a locked door that opens with the
red key you found so long ago on Sir Ar-Zimrathon. Over in the corner,
by the chair, there's a black chest you can pick open and inside
is the wedding ring. This completes another objective. You'll also
find a gold goblet, worth 25g. (7785), and a gold candlestick, worth
50g. (7835), in this room. Unlock the other door with the red key
and turn left (N) down the hallway.
The
first room on the left is a dining room with Lady Nightwalker standing
in it. There's a purple urn, worth 100g. (7935), on the table and
a plate, worth 10g. (7945), mounted on the wall. The room across
the hall from the dining room is a storage room. Look on the floor
in the back corner for a purse, worth 100g. (8045). At some time
during your explorations of this floor, you should have come across
Capt. Denton on patrol. He wears the "Armoury key". Once
you have it, head back downstairs, into the Training Room and unlock
the Armoury door.
Armoury
Frob
the wall torch to open up a secret compartment on the wall where
you'll find the "tower key". There are 2 gas arrows, 6
water arrows, a fire arrow, 6 moss arrows, a gas mine, a flash mine
and a regular mine sitting on the counter, as well as 3 swords,
worth 15g. (8060). Inside the chest, you'll find 3 flashbombs. Return
to the hallway, turn left (W) and look for the room with the pool
full of fish. Go through it, out to the courtyard behind it and
use the "Tower key" to unlock the tower door. Inside are
some boxes and behind them, there's a chest that contains 3 rope
arrows. If you climb up into the very top beams of the tower, you'll
find an invisibility potion. (Now that you have rope arrows, you
can return to the Library and get the items mentioned earlier that
are hidden on top of the bookshelves, if you like.)
Head
back into the house and make your way to the east side where you
found the big swimming pool. Go through the pool room, out the backdoor
and into the other courtyard with a tower. Unlock the door with
the "Tower key", go in, rope arrow up to the very top
rafters here and you'll find "The Crystal Shard", which
completes another objective. On the way back down, look on the south
windowsill for 2 gold coins, worth 40g. (8100). Leave the courtyard
by the archway to the south and follow the passageway back to the
front of the house. Head back through the front gate and the mission
will end.
